Stead in Terriers frame

Huddersfield striker Jon Stead could make his first league start since returning to the club in June against QPR.

Stead played for 30 minutes in the midweek Capital One Cup win over Bradford after missing the opening-day defeat at Nottingham Forest due to a groin injury.

Anthony Gerrard lasted 85 minutes on Tuesday night after missing out at the weekend with a calf injury and could also make the starting line-up, while fellow defender Jack Hunt, withdrawn at half-time against Bradford due to a tight hamstring, is expected to be fit.

Midfielders Keith Southern (calf) and Anton Robinson (knee), plus defender Calum Woods (collarbone) remain sidelined, but recent signing Cristian Lopez, Sean Scannell and Danny Ward are hoping to feature.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp could put new signing Gary O'Neil straight into his squad.

The 30-year-old joined the Hoops on a one-year deal on Wednesday and is available to play some part.

Striker Charlie Austin is expected to make his first league start for the club after scoring in the third minute of Tuesday's Capital One Cup victory over Exeter.

Redknapp will be without veteran midfielder Shaun Derry, who joined Millwall on a one-moth loan deal on Thursday.
