Trio missing for Terriers

Huddersfield will be without Sean Scannell, James Vaughan and Joe Lolley for their Capital One Cup clash with Notts County.

Winger Scannell (hamstring), plus strikers Vaughan (concussion) and Lolley (shin) missed the 2-0 opening-day defeat at Hull and are unlikely to be risked ahead of next weekend's home league game against Blackburn.

Boss Chris Powell, who has no major new injury problems, could hand summer signing Kyle Dempsey his first start - the former Carlisle midfielder stepped off the bench at the weekend.

Another summer recruit, Jordy Hiwula, is hoping to make his first competitive appearance, while striker Ishmael Miller and winger Adam Hammill are in contention to start.

Notts County defender Mawouna Amevor is suspended for the first-round tie.

Amevor was shown a straight red card for violent conduct late on in the Magpies' opening-day victory at Stevenage on Saturday and he must now serve a three-match ban.

Civard Sprockel came off injured at half-time in Hertfordshire, giving Notts boss Ricardo Moniz another problem in defence, although it is hoped Blair Adams will be fit for the trip to West Yorkshire.

Midfielder Rob Milsom continues to nurse a knee problem while striker Ronan Murray (groin) and defender Taylor McKenzie are also sidelined through injury. Transfer-listed trio Nicky Wroe, Billy Daniels and Will Hayhurst are unlikely to be involved again.
