Jed Steer returns for Huddersfield for visit of Middlesbrough

Jed Steer will be back in Huddersfield's starting line-up for the home game against Middlesbrough after returning for a second loan spell at the club.

First-choice goalkeeper Joe Murphy will be out for a month after sustaining an ankle injury in last week's defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and Steer has returned from Aston Villa until Boxing Day.

Town will be without Harry Bunn, who sits out a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards, while fellow forward Mustapha Carayol will not feature against his parent club.

Defender Joel Lynch (hamstring) and striker Ishmael Miller (groin) are doubtful and midfielder Phillip Billing is still out with the ankle injury sustained in the recent defeat to Leeds.

Middlesbrough midfielder Grant Leadbitter will sit out the trip to West Yorkshire through suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season against QPR last week.

Boro will go into the game with three other players - Daniel Ayala, Adam Clayton and Diego Fabbrini - on four cautions and also at risk of incurring one-match bans if they are booked again at the weekend ahead of the November 30 cut-off.

Leadbitter's absence coupled with that of Adam Forshaw, who is still sidelined by an ankle injury, makes the extension of Manchester City midfielder Bruno Zuculini's loan deal until January this week all the more timely.

Defender Fernando Amorebieta has a 50-50 chance of returning from the hamstring problem which saw him miss the QPR game and prompted the rare inclusion of former England international Jonathan Woodgate among head coach Aitor Karanka's substitutes.
