Vaughan out for Terriers

Huddersfield will be without leading goalscorer James Vaughan through suspension for the derby clash with Leeds.

Vaughan, who has scored 11 goals in 14 appearances this season, was shown a straight red card in last week's defeat at Leicester after pushing Marcin Wasilewski to the ground and will start a three-game ban.

Jon Stead and Martin Paterson are both in contention for a recall in Vaughan's absence, but manager Mark Robins has several options with Sean Scannell also in the reckoning.

Robins has no new selection worries, while teenager Duane Holmes made his third league appearance off the bench last week and is pushing for his first start.

Leeds will add new loan signing Dexter Blackstock to their squad for the clash.

Blackstock joined on an initial month-long loan on Thursday and could feature after being handed the number nine shirt by manager Brian McDermott.

McDermott, who has no new injury or suspension worries, must decide whether to retain Sam Byram and Stephen Warnock as wing-backs either side of three central defenders.

Striker Matt Smith is hoping to keep his place in the starting line-up alongside Ross McCormack after scoring twice in Leeds' 4-0 defeat of Birmingham last Sunday.
