Tommy Smith a doubt for Huddersfield

Huddersfield defender Tommy Smith is doubtful for the home clash with Charlton due to the knock which forced him out of Saturday's FA Cup draw against Reading.

Midfielder Kyle Dempsey stepped off the bench to replace right-back Smith and could continue, while midfielder Emyr Huws will be monitored after missing out on Saturday due to illness.

On-loan Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer is available again after being refused permission to play in the FA Cup by his parent club, with Joe Murphy likely to make way.

New loan signing James Husband is hoping to make his first start, but midfielder Dean Whitehead, out since early December due to a knee injury, remains sidelined.

Charlton look set to be without Jordan Cousins after the midfielder suffered a knee injury during Saturday's FA Cup defeat by Colchester.

Cousins went off after 38 minutes in Essex and was replaced by striker Igor Vetokele, who made his first appearance since September after finally recovering from a muscle injury.

The struggling Addicks can welcome back defender Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, who missed the cup tie through suspension.

But Ademola Lookman, Patrick Bauer, Alou Diarra and Ahmed Kashi are set to miss out again through injury.
