Vaughan to miss out for Terriers

Huddersfield striker James Vaughan is unlikely to be involved in his side's home game against Bournemouth.

Vaughan, sidelined for the last two months of last season with a knee injury, is nursing a calf problem, while centre-half Anthony Gerrard will play no part due to a similar problem he sustained at the start of pre-season.

Manager Mark Robins, who has no other major injury concerns, will name summer signing Lee Peltier as his captain and midfielder Radoslaw Majewski, on a season-long loan deal from Nottingham Forest, is likely to start.

New goalkeeper Joe Murphy, a free signing from Coventry in June, is expected to be among the substitutes with Alex Smithies set to start.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe could hand untried goalkeeper Benji Buchel his debut.

The 25-year-old Liechtenstein international has been a regular during pre-season as number one goalkeeper Lee Camp and back-up Darryl Flahavan have struggled with thigh injuries and he looks set to get the nod to face the Terriers if the pair are not passed fit.

Yann Kermorgant and summer signing Callum Wilson are set to continue their partnership up front after Wilson scored a hat-trick in Saturday's pre-season victory over Oxford.

Defender Elliott Ward did not feature during pre-season with a knee injury and this game may come too soon for the centre-back with Baily Cargill likely to be involved in his place.
