Hartlepool 0-0 Huddersfield: Report

Record-breakers are held

Huddersfield made it a club-record 28 unbeaten league games but were far from convincing in a 0-0 draw at Hartlepool.

The Terriers have not lost since December 28 last year, beating an 85-year old record in the process.

A long punt from goalkeeper Scott Flinders almost created an early chance for Colin Larkin, but the striker was unable to get the ball under control to trouble keeper Ian Bennett.

Town's Oscar Gobern shot low from 25 yards at Flinders and Tommy Miller found the stand with a shot, but Pools had a purple patch in the second period when they created a run of half-chances.

Colin Larkin's pace on the counter attack saw him break free, but his shot lacked enough power.

A swift move after 67 minutes brought Pools' best chance and when the ball fell to Colin Nish, he should have done better but shot wide from an angle.

The Terriers almost stole it in the 80th minute but Miller, the former Pools midfielder, whipped a low shot wide of the post.
