Hammill hat-trick sinks Terriers

Barnsley striker Adam Hammill struck a first-half hat-trick as the Tykes secured a 3-1 friendly win over Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield at Oakwell. Hammill opened the scoring in the fourth minute when he thundered a 30-yard rocket into the top corner and added a brilliant second with an overhead kick midway through the first period. The former Liverpool trainee forced veteran Huddersfield goalkeeper Ian Bennett into a flying save and then combined well with summer signing Goran Lovre to smash another fine shot into the far corner before the break. Huddersfield grabbed a late consolation through substitute Theo Robinson, who outjumped the home defence at the far post to head home Gary Roberts' cross.
