Clarke on comeback trail

Huddersfield centre-back Nathan Clarke has been pencilled in for a return to action in a friendly against Wakefield FC. The 26-year-old has returned to training following a knee injury picked up in a pre-season game at Barnsley and even took part in the warm-up before the Swindon game. Manager Lee Clark revealed his delight at the development, telling the Examiner: "He started doing some elements of a normal training schedule last week, and we're hoping he will be able to take part in the full sessions without any problem." The September 29 game at Northern Premier League Wakefield has been fixed up after a pre-season friendly was cancelled just hours beforehand because of the patchy condition of the College Grove pitch. Clark added: "The timing of the match is perfect because it gives Nathan something to work towards."
