Clark: We deserved to be booed

Lee Clark admitted Huddersfield fans were right to boo their own team off at the end of the 3-2 win against nine-man Plymouth, adding: "This win doesn't paper over the cracks." Argyle were 2-0 up after 15 minutes, but had two players and manager Peter Reid sent off as Town came back to win an extraordinary game. Home fans gave Joe Mason, who scored both Plymouth goals, a standing ovation when he was substituted, while roundly booed their own team for struggling against nine men. Clark said: "We had a long talk afterwards about what went wrong. We all know that performance wasn't acceptable and the fans were right to express their opinion. "Our passing wasn't right. We couldn't even pass the ball to a team-mate from 10 yards away. That gave Plymouth hope that they could get a result. We also looked tired and I don't know why. But when you are tired it increases the mistakes you make." Plymouth's Curtis Nelson was dismissed after 11 minutes for hauling down Town striker Jordan Rhodes on the edge of the box, while Plymouth's Kari Arnason scored an own goal and Rhodes and Peter Clarke were on target for the home side.
