Clark: Tranmere got what they wanted

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark admitted Tranmere had "done a job" on his side, holding them to a goalless draw at the Galpharm Stadium. Clark said while the pre-season promotion favourites did not play well, Tranmere deserved plenty of credit for stifling them. Chances were at a premium in west Yorkshire, and Town ended with 10 men after Gary Naysmith was dismissed late on. "The only positive for us was a third successive clean sheet of the season," he said. "We didn't play with our usual intensity, but Tranmere did a good job on us and I don't think you can take anything away from the opposition. "The players have to raise their game and I will be watching them closely in training this week. "Throughout the team we were flat. Lee Peltier was quality as usual and Naysmith, until he blotted his copybook with the sending off, was steady, but apart from that none of the other players enhanced their reputations. I am very happy with my squad overall and we have great competition for places."
