Clark: Terriers were immense

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark was pleased with his side's performance but not the result in the 3-0 win over Carlisle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final second leg. Going into the clash trailing 4-0 in the tie, the Terriers knew they faced an uphill battle to book a place in the showpiece final against Brentford at Wembley. Yet they fell agonisingly close to pulling it off as Alan Lee's double added to Anthony Pilkington's strike to give them a 3-0 win on the night. Clark said: "The players have done everyone associated with Huddersfield proud. They were immense from start to finish. With a little bit of luck, they might have even taken it to penalties or grabbed a winner." He praised two-goal hero Lee, saying: "I'm delighted for Alan. I've always supported him because I could see that he was making a bigger contribution to the team even though the goals were not going in."
