Clark relishing tough period

Manager Lee Clark insisted Huddersfield would not get carried away after a fourth straight win put them second in the League One table. Goals from Kevin Kilbane and Jamie McCombe saw Town overturn the lead given to struggling Walsall by Alex Nicholls. Matthew Richards hit a long-range equaliser early in the second half but Peter Clarke restored Huddersfield`s lead. Jordan Rhodes then came off the bench to seal the victory after 90 minutes with his 16th goal of the season. "We have some tough games coming up. In the last few weeks we have not been playing to our full potential but what we are doing is winning football matches and that's what it's all about," said Clark. "We gave a couple of poor goals away, although the second was a terrific free-kick by the lad. Walsall put us under a bit of pressure at the back but the lads stuck in and showed good character. "We are pleased with the way 2011 has started with us unbeaten and we have to continue in terms of winning football games." Asked about the contribution of Kilbane, who has joined the Terriers on loan from Hull, Clark added: "He is a very good athlete and footballer and was composed with his finish. He will be a very influential player for us, not just with his quality but with his experience and know-how."
