Clark pleased with U21 development

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark believes the experience gained by Terriers trio Alex Smithies, Scott Arfield and Graham Carey on Under-21s international duty is vital to their development. Goalkeeper Smithies has teamed up with England for their clash with Lithuania, Arfield is hoping to win his 16th Scotland cap against Austria and Graham Carey is on duty in Turkey for the Republic of Ireland. Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner: "We're looking forward to having the lads back, but you can't buy the kind of experience they're getting at the moment. "The fact that they won't be back in training until Thursday isn't an issue for me." Smithies and Arfield have been regular starters for Clark's side this season, while Carey has made two league appearances and one in the Carling Cup.
