Hucknall move off the bottom
Tuesday Nov 08 2005 00:00
Another hard earned 3 points for Dean Barricks side, a goal at each end of the game seeing off a Vauxhall side now anchored at the bottom of the table. Gary Ricketts replaced the suspended Mark Ward, no other changes being made to the Hucknall side that did so well against Northwich last week. Both sides had chances in the first 4 minutes, but both defences were able to clear. Hucknall broke down the right in the 5th minute through Tom Groves, he played the ball to Robert Gill, he turned and hit his shot against the keeper, the ball rebounding off Steve McNulty and looping into the net to give Hucknall a fortuitous lead. Peter Cumiskey got free down the left on 14 minutes, but his shot from 25 yards was wayward, and Vauxhall made things worse for themselves a minute later when skipper Steve McNulty was sent off.
