Palacios fit for opener

Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios insists he will be fit to play for Honduras in the World Cup despite suffering an injury scare in his country's final warm-up against Romania on Sunday.

Palacios picked up an abductor muscle injury in the second half and was substituted in the 67th minute. The Hondurans went on to lose the match 3-0 in St Veit an der Glan in Austria.

However Palacios has moved to allay Honduran fears over his injury ahead of their opener against Chile on June 16.

He told La Prensa: "I suppose I pulled an abductor but I feel much better. Thank God it's nothing serious."

Honduras begin their Group H campaign against Chile in Nelspruit on June 16.
