David Wotherspoon has backed Scotland's Under-21s to make amends for last month's stalemate against Bulgaria with victory in Luxembourg.[LNB] The young Scots kicked off their UEFA European Under-21 championship qualifying campaign with a goalless draw at home to the Bulgarians.[LNB]Wotherspoon knows Billy Stark's youngsters can do better and believes the clash with Luxembourg - followed by Austria in Paisley on Monday night - is an ideal opportunity to put more points on the board.[LNB]He said: "I think it's fair to say that we lost two points at home because we feel like we could have gone out and won the game.[LNB]"It was disappointing for us but we've got loads of games left so we will look forward to this game on Thursday and hopefully we can get the three points away from home.[LNB]"There are lots of games and you never know what can happen.[LNB]"We've played opposition away from home before and we've done well so I think we can go out there with a positive attitude.[LNB]"We've got the players and a fresh squad and we can win the game."[LNB]Wotherspoon is one of the few surviving members of the squad from the last campaign and the Hibernian midfielder believes the trip to Luxembourg can help the current crop of players forge a strong team spirit.[LNB]He added: "It is a fresh start for everyone. It's just about getting together and getting that team bonding.[LNB]"The last squad had a real togetherness because we had so many trips away together and everyone got to know each other.[LNB]"That's what us boys need to do now and I think it will be a really good campaign for us."[LNB]Wotherspoon is well aware that expectations will be high, especially for the first of those two games.[LNB]He said: "It does put a little bit of pressure on us but I think we can handle it. We know ourselves that we can go there and get three points.[LNB]"We went to Azerbaijan in the last campaign and won 4-0 and then we came back here and they played pretty well and showed that they were a decent team and got a draw.[LNB]"It shows that anything can happen but hopefully we can go over there and show what we've got because we've got the players who can get the three points."
