Arsenal youngster and two french players arrive at East Mains

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has quickly turned his attention elswhere, after a loan deal for Derby striker Chris Maguire collapsed.

The Hibees were in discussion to take the former Aberdeen youngster on trial for the rest of the season, but the deal fell through, with some reports that the player refused to head back to Scotland, while others are reporting that Derby knocked Fenlon back.

Hibs have now taken Arsenal youngster Rhys Murphy on trial, with a view to loan move for the rest of the season.

Murphy hasn't made a first team appearance at the Emirates, but has spent some time on loan at Brentford.

The 20-year-old striker represented England at U16, U17 and U19 level, before switching allegiance to the Irish, with whom he has represented at U21 level on one occassion. scoring the winning goal as the Irish youngsters beat Hungary 2-1.

Murphy spent some time on trial with Rangers at the start of this season, scoring against Hamilton in a closed door game, but the Gers decided not to offer the player a deal.

Also on trial at the club's £5m state-of-the-art training facility at East Mains is two French players.

The identity of the players in question are unknown, but they will likely spend the rest of the week trying to win a deal at Easter Road.
