Terrors third as Hibs are held

    27 Feb 2010 - 16:59:07

Hibernian dropped down to fourth place in the SPL after conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at home to St Johnstone.

The opening goal of the game at Easter Road came with just three minutes played when Anthony Stokes converted from the spot after Colin Nish had been brought down by visiting goalkeeper Graeme Smith.

However, the Saints levelled five minutes from time with a penalty of their own, Liam Craig making no mistake after Liam Miller was adjudged to have handled the ball.

Dundee United moved above Hibs with a 3-0 home win over rock-bottom Falkirk, with a David Goodwillie penalty and a Morgaro Gomis double sinking the Bairns.

Motherwell edged out Kilmarnock 1-0 at Fir Park, with Jamie Murphy's header from a Tom Hateley cross sealing victory for the Steelmen.

Strugglers St Mirren and Hamilton Academical shared the points from a goalless draw at St Mirren Park, with a point apiece a bonus due to Falkirk's loss.

The lunchtime kick-off saw Hearts win 1-0 at Aberdeen thanks to an overhead kick from Eggert Jonsson just past the hour mark.

The visitors' success came despite them being reduced to ten men seven minutes into the second half at Pittodrie, when Laryea Kingston was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Fraser Fyvie.
