Sproule in quit threat

Hibernian winger Ivan Sproule has threatened to leave Scottish football if he continues to be victimised by referee Stuart Dougal and SFA disciplinary chiefs.

The 25-year-old Northern Ireland international was sent off by Dougal for his tackle on Celtic's Lee Naylor in Saturday's game between the two clubs, having previously being dismissed in December at Rangers.

"I love Scotland and I really love playing for Hibs because they've been first-class to me," he told the Daily Record.

"But if things keep going the way they have been then I can't see myself staying in Scotland for much longer.

"I definitely wouldn't want to sign for another club in this country.

"The referee has sent me off before and I'm sure that wasn't for a bad tackle either. I just can't understand it but it's the kind of thing that will maybe force me out of Scotland.

"This time I feel I've been victimised, because I don't think anybody else on the park making the same challenge would have got the same result."
