Sodje injury blow for Hibs

Hibernian striker Akpo Sodje will miss the start of the season after hobbling away from a pre-season friendly against Livingston on crutches.[LNB] The former Charlton hitman suffered the blow in the dying seconds of the game, and Colin Calderwood admits that the prognosis is not looking good.[LNB]It means Sodje will miss the visit of Celtic, Hibs' opening game of the new season, a week on Sunday in front of the Sky Sports cameras but he could also be sidelined for longer.[LNB]"He's on crutches, he's had a scan but we have to wait," Calderwood said. "We cannot diagnose right away, we have to wait to let the swelling go down to allow the physios to have a look at him but it's certainly a couple of weeks at least for him."[LNB]However, Calderwood could make a move for former Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan who featured against East Fife as a trialist.[LNB]"We know pretty much everything there is about him but if you can get that opportunity, I think we should take it. What we have to do is sell the place to him," he added.
