Riordan admits wasted years

Derek Riordan has admitted his move to Celtic was a mistake and has vowed to get his career back on track with Hibernian.

The 25-year-old left Easter Road two years ago but, after making only 13 starts for the Bhoys, returned to Edinburgh in a £250,000 deal on Monday.

He said: "It feels like I've lost a couple of years but I'm raring to go.

"It's frustrating not playing and watching from the stand or from the bench. It's really frustrating, it depresses you.

"Any player would have felt he wasn't given his chance when he doesn't play.

"I kept playing away in the reserves but now I'm delighted to be back here."
