Scotland cap Riordan insists he does not intend to influence his team-mate's thinking despite spending two years at Celtic prior to his move back to Hibs during the summer.[LNB]Riordan, who opened the scoring in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Motherwell, failed to make an impact with the Hoops and saw his relationship with manager Gordon Strachan deteriorate towards the end of his time in Glasgow.[LNB]However, the marksman insists he has no intention of telling his team-mate what he should do in the wake of Celtic's approach on Friday when they are said to have had £2million plus player bid rejected.[LNB]He said: "It's up to him, everyone makes your own choices. Everyone makes their own choice in life.[LNB]"It's up to him what he does. I've not spoken to him about my time at Celtic."[LNB]Riordan notched his eighth goal of the season in the eighth minute after he was afforded time in the box to find the corner of the net from Ross Chisholm's cut-back from the byline.[LNB]Motherwell began the second period with an urgency about their play and, after piling on the pressure, were awarded a penalty kick in the 75th minute when Steven Thicot pulled on Jamie Murphy's jersey inside the box.[LNB]David Clarkson, who produced a lively performance before Scotland manager George Burley, converted from 12 yards.[LNB]Riordan revealed Frenchman Thicot apologised to his team-mates for the needless foul to give away the penalty.[LNB]He said: "We gave away a stupid goal again and it knackered our game after that.[LNB]"Steven said he could not see the ball with the light. The ball went over his head at first so he pulled him.[LNB]"You could see it was a penalty and he said that he pulled him. He has said sorry obviously.[LNB]"I am just happy to score. I am happy if I score every week, that's every striker's role is to score every week.[LNB]"That's what you are there for but obviously we are disappointed we didn't get the three points."[LNB][LNB]
