Hibees lose in decent display

Hibs were inmvloved in their thriird pre-season game tonight, and the second of their mini pre-season European tour.

The Hibees faced off against Belgian top division side OH Leuven at the Den Dreef Stadium.

Hibs lined-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, and fielded an unfamiliar line-up, obviously with tommorow's friendly against Zeeland in Holland in mind.

Leuven dominated most of the first half, but the defence held well, without the injured James McPake.

New goalkeeper Ben Willaims marshalled the players in front of him well, and looks a good comannding goalkeeper, that the club has been crying out for, for a number of years.

Hibs did create a couple of chances in the first half, through Wotherspoon and Ross Caldwell, but they Leuven keeper dealt with them easily.

Hibs introduced Leigh Griffiths, re-signed on loan from Wolves this morning, and he injected a much needed spark(y) to the side.

Pat Fenlon's side played much better in the second half, playing a much more patient passing game that created a number of chances.

Despite this Leuven's Gambian striker Ibou gave them the lead in 72 minutes, with a striker from the edge of the box.

Hibs created more chances after this but couldn't convert, and the home side held out for a narrow win.

Hibs line-up:
