Petrie remains resolute

Hibs chairman Rod Petrie remains adamant that midfield duo Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson will not be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Charlton Athletic had a £3million bid for the pair rejected by the Easter Road club, who have also refused to renegotiate Brown and Thomson's contracts, which were only agreed in March.

Petrie said: "Everyone knows we are entering an important run of games over the festive period.

"We are one of the teams competing at the upper end of what is a very competitive SPL.

"We are also about to embark on our Tennent's Scottish Cup campaign and have a CIS Insurance Cup semi-final to look forward to at the end of January.

"Both Kevin and Scott have an important contribution to make to the club's success in each of these competitions."
