Myrie-Williams eyeing cup final berth

Dundee United winger Jennison Myrie-Williams is hoping he has done enough to earn a start in Saturday's Scottish Cup final.[LNB] The former Bristol City winger put in a lively shift for the Tangerines against Hibernian on Sunday but could not prevent the Easter Road side going on to win 2-0.[LNB]Myrie-Williams said: "I was delighted to play and I felt that I needed it to get my match sharpness up. I felt it went quite well and hopefully I have given the gaffer something to think about ahead of next week.[LNB]"It is going to be a massive game for the club. It would be the biggest game of my career if I play and I'm really excited by the thought that I might get a game."[LNB]The winger is confident his side will come out on top at Hampden on Saturday against underdogs Ross County.[LNB]He added: "People will be expecting us to win but you only have to remember what they did against Celtic to know it isn't going to be easy. They are a good team but if our 11 play to the best of their abilities I think we should win the game.[LNB]"It is always an added pressure when you go in as favourites, especially when you are playing a First Division side, but a cup final is a one-off game and it will be down to who wants it more on the day."[LNB]Hibernian striker Colin Nish paid tribute to his strike partners Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes as the Easter Road side booked their place in next season's Europa League with the win at Tannadice.[LNB]Nish has not struck the back of the net with the same regularity as Riordan and Stokes but it was the 29-year-old who scored twice in the win over United.[LNB]He said: "I think it would be a bit unfair to say I scored the goals that have got us into Europe as Stokesy has scored over 20 goals this season and Derek is not that far behind.[LNB]"I don't mind if they get the headlines because as long as I'm playing in a side that is winning, I'm happy."[LNB]The Hibs striker believes his side merited their place in Europe, despite a poor run of form which saw them win only once in their final eight league matches.[LNB]He added: "After our form at the start of the season I don't think anyone can say that we didn't deserve to finish fourth. We just went about it the hard way when you look at the run we have been on.[LNB]"Playing in Europe will be brilliant. It is something to look forward to and something a bit different from the last couple of years."
