Murray: We believe in ourselves

Ian Murray has urged Hibernian to prove their European disappointment is firmly behind them as they prepare for another assault on the SPL.[LNB] The Edinburgh club's domestic campaign gets under way with a visit to Motherwell on Sunday, having already been left reeling by an early exit from the Europa League following a 6-2 aggregate defeat to NK Maribor.[LNB]In contrast, Motherwell have impressed on the continental stage so far, with wins over Breidablik and Aalesund and a double-header against Odense all that stands between them and the group stages.[LNB]However, Murray - who is suspended this weekend - believes Hibs can prove the doubters wrong who have tipped Well to come out on top in the live television clash.[LNB]He said: "For some reason, there is always a little bit of doubting Hibs and the minute things start to go wrong there seems to be this big panic and big crisis at Easter Road.[LNB]"That might come from within, I'm not sure. It might be our fans, it might be ourselves. But we need to get rid of that.[LNB]"We are not a bad team. We finished fourth last season and we could have finished third with a little bit of luck and a better performance after Christmas.[LNB]"We believe in our ability and we have a good mix of players. We got beat by Maribor and end of story.[LNB]"The season hasn't even started yet but we probably feel that everybody is looking for Motherwell to win the game and be favourites but we believe we can beat them."[LNB]He added: "I think we got over the Maribor game pretty quickly.[LNB]"We went down to Blackpool for a friendly after the home leg and got a decent result, which we probably needed for the confidence.[LNB]"The lads are now ready to go on Sunday."[LNB]The last meeting between the two clubs ended in an epic 6-6 draw, which saw Motherwell stage an amazing comeback to snatch a point.[LNB]Murray said: "We usually have a good record through there and the 6-6 game overshadows that a bit.[LNB]"Motherwell are one of those teams like us - it depends which team turns up.[LNB]"We need to make sure we are on the ball for the first game of the season. There is always a bit of excitement and anticipation.[LNB]"The game will be live on TV as well and we need to go out and put on a good show.[LNB]"But, knowing Scottish football, it will probably be a 0-0 after seeing a 6-6!"
