Mixu hails Rankin display

Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen hailed the all-round performance of goal hero John Rankin following Sunday's surprise 2-0 victory over Celtic.

Midfielder Rankin benefited from a goalkeeping mistake by Artur Boruc as he opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a hopeful shot from distance.

Colin Nish's second goal 15 minutes later secured the points for the Edinburgh club.

"He (Rankin) was tremendous," said Paatelainen. "He's a very fit guy and a willing worker and today I felt defensively and offensively he was all over the place.

"He supported the strikers and made runs off them, then cane back and helped the defence as well.

"It was a really good performance."
