Mixu: Jones could stay on

Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen has dismissed reports suggesting captain Rob Jones will be leaving the club this summer.

The 29-year-old full-back has been linked with moves to several Championship clubs in recent months but could still be at Easter Road next season, according to Paatelainen.

"Everyone puts one and one together and gets three," he said after Sunday's goalless draw with Celtic which was Hibs' final home game of the season.

"There's no point speculating. There's a lot of talk and rumours but we'll wait and see what the summer brings.

"The players selected him as their player of the year and quite rightly. He's been absolutely fantastic in the heart of our defence."

On his own summer transfer plans, Paatelainen added: "We're always looking to improve. We want to develop the existing players. That's the first and foremost job.

"But we want to add to our squad as well and bring in quality in areas where we feel we might lack a little and hopefully be better off next season."
