Mixu: Hibs duo must fight on

Hibernian boss Mixu Paatelainen is hopeful that Steven Fletcher and Rob Jones will continue to give their all after seeing moves away from Easter Road fall through.

Striker Fletcher was a target for Celtic, while Nottingham Forest and Colchester United made bids for centre-back Jones, with Hibs standing firm over their valuations of the pair.

Paatelainen told the Daily Record: "I would like to think the players can put this behind them and not let it affect their performances or attitude.

"They have to realise that by working hard there will be another chance in the future. We won't sell until we get what we feel the players are worth.

"We have told clubs we don't have to sell players for anything less than what we value them for which says a lot about how far we have come.

"In the cases involving Fletcher and Jones, the transfers weren't great for all parties and that's why the players have stayed with us.

"Now the boys must get their heads down and give everything for me."
