Mixu sees red over Hogg dismissal

Paatelainen is considering launching an appeal against the central defender's dismissal for a late tackle on substitute Craig Conway minutes before David Goodwillie struck a late winner for United. Hibs were already short of options in defence, with captain Rob Jones and Sol Bamba suspended, and Hogg will join them on the sidelines for Thursday's trip to city rivals Hearts unless the club challenge the decision of referee Stevie O'Reilly. United made the most of the numerical advantage by sealing a 2-1 win through Goodwillie in the 88th minute. Paatelainen said: "We were two men down at that point because David van Zanten had to come off for treatment for a head knock. "If I knew that, I would have made a change. I didn't think, in my opinion, it was a red card. "These are very big decisions, these decisions decide matches, they have to be correct ones. "I didn't think it was a malicious tackle; he went for the ball. It was late and it was possibly a yellow card." Paatelainen, who will be without several first-team players for next week's televised encounter at Tynecastle, added: "We are missing some very important players; we have a team full of players, we will go out and fight and try to get a result." United took the lead in the 28th minute when Warren Feeney volleyed in from close range from a Danny Swanson corner. Steven Fletcher levelled five minutes before the break after meeting Jonatan Johansson's cross at the back post. With Hibs down to nine men, Goodwillie raced away from Ian Murray before drilling a low shot past Yves Ma-Kalambay. United manager Craig Levein, whose side have now closed the gap on third-placed Hearts to two points ahead of the latter's clash with Rangers, insists his players were rewarded for their bravery. He said: "I didn't think a point was good for us if we are to catch Hearts. "The starting line-up is as adventurous as I dared to put it. "It could have gone the other way - that's what happens in these games. "If this was October and at 1-1, I would have taken draw. "It we hadn't got three points, I would have been disappointed. I thought we deserved to win."
