Mixu frustrated by misfiring Hibs

The Easter Road team were largely outplayed by their visitors and created few chances throughout as they slipped further behind in the race for a top-six place. After seeing his team booed from the field, Paatelainen refused to comment on the calls for him to be replaced, but claimed he was as exasperated by his team's record as the fans. He said: "I can't answer (whether I'm secure) because I don't make that decision. "The reaction of the supporters doesn't concern me. I can understand their frustration and there's nobody more frustrated than myself. "The boys gave 100 per cent effort, the spirit was there, and now we need to keep improving the quality." Paatelainen had been hugely critical of his side following last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Inverness, accusing them of a lack of effort as well as quality. However, he insisted it was only the quality which was missing against Falkirk as his players upped their work rate. He added: "It was a slightly better performance than last week. The effort was there but I'm a little bit disappointed again, as I have been all season, with the quality of our passing. "We huffed and puffed really in the second half and never really created good chances. "In the first half we had a couple of good openings and got behind them a couple of times but the final pass let us down. "But the effort was there and the togetherness, so I was pleased with that." Falkirk manager John Hughes insisted his team had done enough to leave with a victory, but had to make do with extending their lead over Inverness at the bottom to two points. And, despite watching his team extend their run to only one win in 13 SPL matches, he admitted it could prove a vital point. He said: "I felt we did enough to merit the three points. I don't remember my goalie having any great saves to make. I felt we passed it really well, although I've seen us do it better. "But most important thing for me is I think we saw a real spirited, fighting performance, matched with a little bit of quality. That's the pleasing thing. "It was a good performance. I felt we merited the three points but that point here might be the one that keeps us in the SPL. All the credit goes to my players. "We were a wee but wasteful in front of goal but I'm really pleased for my boys, every one of them. "It shows the spirit and the character. I asked them to show leadership qualities and character and they showed that. "It's a very good point but we're disappointed we never got three."
