Miller plans Perth revenge mission

Hibernian midfielder Liam Miller is determined to atone for their Perth thrashing when they return to McDiarmid Park tomorrow.[LNB] Hibs surprisingly lost 5-1 against St Johnstone in February while sitting third in the SPL following an excellent start to the reign of John Hughes.[LNB]But they have won just four matches since then - with only one of them coming this season - to leave them under pressure from their demanding fans.[LNB]Whether that midweek defeat in Perth prompted a crisis of confidence that led to their disappointing form is purely conjecture, but Miller certainly remembers it well.[LNB]And the former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder is determined to kick-start their season, with McDiarmid Park the perfect venue to do so.[LNB]"Obviously we had a really hard game there last year, one we haven't really forgotten about," Miller said.[LNB]"We know it's going to be a really tough game and one we would like to make amends for that really.[LNB]"We need to go there and produce. You see a hunger there this week in training, the appetite is there, everyone is charging into tackles. We all want to win. We just need to keep going and things will change."[LNB]Hughes observed this week that his players were fed-up with the negative coverage surrounding the club and were determined to silence their critics.[LNB]But Miller is simply desperate to enjoy that elusive winning feeling again.[LNB]"We're not trying to prove anyone wrong," the 29-year-old said. "We just want to win football matches, it's as simple as that.[LNB]"We have no excuses for it. We've been unlucky at times, but you still need to win.[LNB]"But I see it in training every day that the quality is there.[LNB]"The manager has brought in a few new faces and I think as a squad we have learnt from last season."[LNB]Hughes always stresses that his philosophy of playing possession football is important to him but Miller is more concerned with results rather than performances at the moment.[LNB]"(It would be good) if we can get both but the more important thing is points on the board at this stage," he said.[LNB]"We really want the win and we'll go there and do what we have to do to get the three points.[LNB]"We just need to keep going. Persistence and perseverance - things will definitely change."
