McGhee's in the dark over Hibs

Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee admits Hibernian, under new boss Colin Calderwood, will bring something of the unknown to Pittodrie on Saturday.[LNB] Calderwood takes charge of Hibs for the first time in the SPL clash after leaving his position as assistant manager of Newcastle to succeed John Hughes at the Easter Road helm.[LNB]Dons boss McGhee believes the new manager may boost Hibs, who beat Kilmarnock last weekend to end a barren home run dating back to March, but is concentrating on his Aberdeen side.[LNB]McGhee said: "They won last week and the change of manager will be a focus for them.[LNB]"If they were suffering from a lack of sense of direction, he'll bring that back. He will bring a focus, a few new ideas.[LNB]"We are looking at reports on them and how they defend corners and all those sort of things, but probably that all goes out of the window because Colin will bring his own ideas to how they do that.[LNB]"There will be a bit of an unknown quality about how he will set his team up and how he will defend and those sort of things so you know we have to get to grip with that early in the game.[LNB]"I still feel that most important to us is how we are, not how they are."[LNB]Aberdeen themselves are in the midst of a barren run of form, having drawn one and lost five of their last six matches. But McGhee insists morale is good.[LNB]"Any suggestion that there would be otherwise is from people that do not know us," he said.[LNB]"We are all convinced that our run 100% has been down to the size of the squad and the availability of the players we have had, the injuries, going to Inverness with seven players missing.[LNB]"There is absolutely no need for anything other than a positive attitude around the place."[LNB]McGhee, though, is fully aware the critics are beginning to round on the players and questioning his own position as boss.[LNB]"I'm not under any illusions that we've got a bit of work to do," he said. "If you take one point in 18 they're going to play it that way.[LNB]"(But) I don't feel there is pressure on me at the moment. No matter what happens tomorrow we are improving and we will improve from the point on.[LNB]"Of course we want to win tomorrow and as far as from the other side of it putting pressure on me well I have just got to live with that."[LNB]One of the reasons for Aberdeen's slow start to the season is the size of the squad, although McGhee has no fresh concerns against Hibs.[LNB]McGhee said: "I believe we have only got one first team here. We have not got a squad rotation.[LNB]"We can't do that so we need the majority of our first choice players available.[LNB]"The others can come in - maybe one or two - and still maintain a level of performance.[LNB]"When we have to bring in the number of players that we had at Inverness we can't maintain that level of performance."[LNB]Nikola Vujadinovic (hamstring) is unlikely to play tomorrow, while Peter Pawlett is still out with a broken toe and Fraser Fyvie remains a long-term absentee.[LNB]
