McCann grateful for Hughes backing

After more than a year out with a serious knee problem, full-back McCann made his first-team comeback in last month's Scottish Premier League opener against St Mirren. But his 70-minute spell in that 2-1 win has proven his only competitive action to date, with a hamstring injury sidelining him ever since. He told Hibernian TV: "I'm back in training now though and it's just a case of trying to pick things up again. It was a shame because I was just getting going again but these things happen. "The timing could have been better - the gaffer had given me a chance and I started in the first game of the season, then this happened on the Tuesday! "I was down for a bit but the manager kept encouraging me; it is the type of thing that you have to deal with in football but I'm back fully fit again."
