Kris Commons is determined to play his part in keeping Hibernian at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship after making his debut in the 1-1 draw with Morton.
Commons joined on loan until January 15 on Friday after jumping at the chance to be reunited with former Celtic manager Neil Lennon.
He was quickly into the action in Greenock and Hibs ended the weekend still top on goal difference after Dundee United midfielder Tony Andreu missed a penalty in a goalless draw with Raith Rovers.
Jason Cummings earned Hibs a point with a 25-yard free-kick five minutes after coming off the bench in the 76th minute, with Gary Oliver opening the scoring in between.
Commons told Hibs TV: "It was a strange feeling - it's been so long since I played first-team football. I'm very thankful to get the opportunity.
"As soon as I got the phone call from Neil, I was here within 12 hours. It was a no-brainer. I need to play football, I know Neil very well, I know the club very well, it's not far from Glasgow. I just want to do my part.
"It was great to play football and it was a great welcome from the fans as well.
"For me it's all about trying to get that match sharpness and see where I am come the end of January."
The 33-year-old added: "It was pretty frantic at times, there was a lot of long balls and a lot of fight. That's the league we are in now, the passing ability is not going to be as good as the top league.
"I'm thoroughly looking forward to getting back into training now with the rest of the squad, because I only had an hour with them the other day, so it's just a new experience for me.
"I've always thought that Hibs are a great club and a well supported club, so I'm thoroughly looking forward to my home debut."
Dumbarton were the only team to win, with Gary Fleming's second-half strike earning a 2-1 victory over Falkirk.
Elsewhere, Queen of the South and Dunfermline played out an entertaining 2-2 draw while St Mirren drew 1-1 with Ayr.
