Kettlewell hails Ross character
Ross County midfielder Stuart Kettlewell was delighted with the manner of Saturday's victory over Hibernian at Global Energy Stadium.
Leigh Griffith's seventh goal of the season gave Hibs and early lead but Kettlewell soon levelled with his first goal in the top flight.
Iain Vigurs gave County the lead 11 minutes from the break but on the stroke of half-time the Hibees hit back though James McPake.
The match could have gone either way in the second half and Griffiths and Vigurs were both denied by the woodwork. But with just seven minutes remaining County substitute Colin McMemanin popped up with the winner to make it 3-2.
Kettlewell, who has now scored in every division in Scotland, was delighted with the character shown in the win.
"The boys are over the moon with the victory and the manner of the win," he said.
"We were a wee bit disappointed with the goals we lost, but we were really positive in the first half.
"We had to soak up a bit of pressure in the second half but we managed to get the sucker punch goal and it was a fantastic result for us."
Kettlewell also spoke of the belief the players had of bouncing back from three straight defeats.
"We went a goal down but I thought we were the better side and came right back into it and created a lot of chances," he said.
"It showed the character we have in the dressing room after a few hard results in recent weeks.
"We have done well to bounce back. We spoke about it beforehand and said we didn't want to keep losing games, especially on the back of a 40-match unbeaten run.
"People were looking to see how we would react after losing a few but we showed great character and answered a few questions out there.
"We have confidence we can move ourselves up the league. We don't want to be looking below us and this is a step in the right direction.
"If you talk about just staying up, you are asking for trouble.
"There is nothing between most of the teams in the division. We lost three on the bounce but we scored four goals at St Mirren but lost a freak result.
On his goal, he added: "It is great, that's me scored in every division now, so it is a massive plus. There are not many players who have done it, I guess you could call me a journeyman."
Hibs defender, James McPake said: "We dominated the second half and I thought we were going to nick it at the end.
"Unfortunately it went the other way and we have a long trip down the road with no point.
"It was frustrating because we lost three goals all to mistakes. It's not been par for the season, we have been quite strong at doing the basics but unfortunately this time we made three errors of judgment."
