JJ throws weight behind Hughes

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies has thrown his support behind embattled Hibernian boss John Hughes, saying he is a "determined character".[LNB] Hibs, who travel to Celtic on Saturday, are without a win at home in nine games and were booed off in their last two matches at Easter Road.[LNB]Hibs, like Edinburgh rivals Hearts, exited the Co-operative Insurance Cup this week, but Jefferies has backed Hughes to turn fortunes around.[LNB]Jefferies, who managed Hughes at Falkirk in the 1990s, said: "John Hughes is the most determined character I've ever come across.[LNB]"Why is everybody panicking in September?[LNB]"He could easily go on a run of games."[LNB]Hearts, meanwhile, will not appeal against Craig Thomson's dismissal in Tuesday's 4-3 loss at Falkirk.[LNB]Jefferies added: "I've seen it on the video and had a word with him and he didn't make any contact but there was intent there.[LNB]"There's nothing to appeal against."[LNB]
