Hughes pleased with win

Hibernian recorded a 3-1 success at Falkirk on Saturday to maintain their 100 per cent record at the start of the new SPL campaign.

Derek Riordan scored a brace to manager John Hughes' delight.

He said: "We had to work hard for the win. I thought Falkirk were the better side in the first half and we were fortunate to go into the break level.

"We knew how difficult it would be coming here and facing Falkirk in their first home game. And, although we were maybe not at our best, we got the three points which perhaps shows there is a lot more to come from us.

"Derek has it in him. His movement on the free-kick, coming across and getting in there and his own free-kick himself, which is just vintage Derek isn't it?

"So we're delighted to walk out with three points."
