Hughes has mixed feelings

Hibernian's new manager John Hughes has formed very different opinions of each one of Moroccan duo Merouane Zemmama and Abdessallam Benjelloun.

Zemmama has returned to pre-season training full of enthusiasm after a spell away from Easter Road on loan.

Meanwhile, compatriot Benjelloun saw a move to Al Ahly fall through recently and has yet to join up with the Hibees squad.

Hughes told BBC Scotland: "The important thing with Merouane is that he has come with the right mind-set. He is laughing, joking and has a smile on his face.

"So he excites me and I am sure the fans will love to see him coming back."

Of Benjelloun, Hughes added: "He was trying to get himself a move to other clubs.

"I think he has been disrespectful to the board, to myself, to the players and, most importantly, to the supporters.

"Right now, the message is get yourself back here, get going and everything starts afresh."
