Hughes can be Hibs hero - McBride

The 28-year-old followed Hughes to Easter Road this summer after enjoying his football philosophy at Falkirk. McBride is sure former Hibs skipper Hughes will be just as popular a manager with the Leith faithful as he was a player. "An obvious attraction for me was that the manager came here to Hibernian first, that and the style of football I know that Hibernian like to play," McBride told the club's official website. "I remember when I first went to Falkirk I could not believe the pre-season training, working with the ball straight away and working on passing moves when I was used to starting out with two weeks of solid running. "John is advanced in his training methods and I'm sure if you were to ask any of the players right now they will tell you that they are enjoying pre-season. "I expect that the Hibernian supporters will love the way the gaffer lays out his side. He wants to play football from back to front - he knows that some days it works and some it does not, it takes some patience but I think we will have a good season. "I know that at a club this size just finishing in the top six is not really good enough - we know where the supporters expect us to be and all the players I think have to work towards that." The former Celtic and Motherwell player will be joined in the Hibs midfield by Danny Galbraith, who completed a move back north from Manchester United. The 19-year-old Scot believes his grounding at Old Trafford will help him fit in with the style of football on offer at Hibernian. "I came up to watch a few games last season and it was obvious to me that all the supporters want to see is a passing game," Galbraith said. "I can't argue with that because it is the way to play and the way I was taught in Manchester. "Even after three days with the new manager I can tell that there is not going to be any choice but to play that way, it's the way I've been brought up to play, so for me this was the ideal place to come."
