Hughes looks for finishing touches from Hibernian

Hibernian manager John Hughes has called on his side to be more clinical in the final third of the pitch as they seek to end a miserable home run.

Hibs are without a win at Easter Road since March 6 - a run of seven matches - after spurning the opportunity to defeat Inverness last weekend. Hughes, though, believes if Hibs show the same characteristics as they did last week in Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Hamilton, only with more cutting edge, his side should prevail.

"I feel that if we do what we did last week it could be good enough to win the football match," said Hughes.

"We played some wonderful stuff, created chances, but there's still a bit of work to be done. We need to start playing football higher up the park.

"The way we pass the ball and our ball retention is very good, we just need to take it further up the park, take it in the last quarter and be clinical when the chances come our way.

"We have to be more hard-working in terms of trying to create chances and hopefully we can go and take them."
