Hughes laments passing deficiency

Hibernian manager John Hughes felt his side had received a lesson in passing the ball from Maribor after a 3-0 defeat left their Europa League hopes in ruins. Hibs struggled to match the Slovenian side on a slick, wet surface at the Ljudski Stadium and found themselves three down before Hughes brought on danger men Anthony Stokes and Derek Riordan. "Maribor played the ball quicker than us," Hughes said. "They are a good team, very sharp and quick. We played a competitive game but they outpaced us. We have to pass with purpose, not just for the sake of passing it. "We need to pass a bit better and a bit quicker."
