Hibs utility man Lewis Stevenson after new deal

Youth product wants to stay longer

Hibs player Lewis Stevenson has today revealed that he is desperate to land a new deal with the club.

The Hibees youth product's current deal runs out this summer, and he is desperate to extend his stay at Easter Road.

The 25-year-old said:

“My contract’s up in the summer and we’ve been speaking.

“I need to do the business on the park and if that happens then hopefully I’ll get a new contract.

“We’ll see what happens. If I can do well and the club does well then I’m sure I’ll have more of a chance.

“That’s up to me.”

Stevenson, who joined the club's youth academy aged just 14, made his Hibs debut way back in 2005, in a cup tie against Ayr United at Somerset Park.

The little midfielder has now gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club, and is the last remaining survivor of the Hibees 2007 Scottish League Cup winning side.

He was voted the club's Player of the Year last season.
