Hibs sign Goalkeeper Ben Williams

English keeper arrives at Easter Road (
Hibs have today announced their fourth signing of the summer transfer window, with the capture of goalkeeper Ben Williams.
Williams, 29, was a free agent after allowing his contract with Colchester United to run down, stating he would like to play in the Championship.
However, Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has moved quickly to land the keeper, and beat of competition from Ipswich Town.
Williams has signed a two-year-deal to be part of Pat Fenlon's new look Hibs side going into the 2012/13 SPL season.
Speaking to the official club website, Williams said:
"I'm 29 now, and I'm about to enter the peak years as a goalkeeper - I'm looking forward to experiencing that time in my career with Hibernian.
"This was probably the biggest decision of my career so far, but I believe it's the correct choice and I look forward to the challenge ahead.
"From what I already know about Scottish football, Hibernian are a club with passionate supporters, alot of history and an impressive stadium."
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon was delighted with his fourth summer capture, he said:
"I am delighted to be able to introduce Ben to our squad - he is a top class goalkeeper with vast experience.
"He's got an excellent pedigree, and along with players like James McPake and other senior players, will lead our new look side into the new season."
Williams started his career with Manchester United without making a single appearance, he was loaned out to Coventry City, Chesterfield and Crewe during his time at Old Trafford.
He then moved to Crewe on a pemanent contract, playing over 130 games for the club.
Williams then had a short spell with Carlisle, before moving to Colchester United, where he made over 120 appearances, landing the club's Player of the Year Award three seasons on the trot.
