Hibernian fear they could be without Steven Fletcher for six weeks after the striker chipped a bone in his ankle.
The Scotland Under-21 international lasted just 20 minutes of Hibs' 1-1 draw with Falkirk on Saturday and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"It is not looking very good unfortunately. It is looking like a bad one, it might be a chipped bone," revealed manager John Collins.
"If it is what we think it is, we are looking at six weeks, but we will find out for sure.
"He has been outstanding for us this season and of course it is a blow.
"It is part and parcel of football and it happens at most clubs. We just have to deal with it."
