Young winger shown the door
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has today made his first move in opening the exit door at Easter Road.
In what could be seen as a bit of a surprise, young winger David Crawford has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Crawford, 18, was tipped for big things with the Hibees, when he won the SPL U19 rising Star award in 2010.
He was loaned out to Ayr United for the second half of the 2010-11 season, making 12 appearnces for the Honest Men.
Crawford was awarded the man-of-the-match award on his debut with Ayr, and impressed enough to be handed his first professional contract when he returned to Easter Road in the summer.
Then Hibs boss Colin Calderwood was then impressed enough in pre-season to hand the winger his HIbees debut at the start of this season.
He appeared as an 85th minute sub against Celtic on the first day of the season, and then set up Hibs winning goal, in the following game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Calderwood then decided that Crawford could join Brechin City on loan until January 2012, where he made 15 appearances.
Upon his return to Easter Road this week, Crawford has been told he has no future at the club. and has left with immeadiate effect.
Hibernian-Mad would like to wish the lad the very best for the future.
