Hibs midfielder Zemmama set to join Boro in 200,000 deal

Fees agreed between clubs. According to early editions of tomorrow’s Daily Mail, Hibs and Middlesbrough have come to an agreement about Moroccan midfielder Merouane Zemmama. Apparently a £200,000 fee has been agreed between the clubs, and that Zemmama is now discussing terms with the Championship side. 27-year-old Zemmama has spent the last few days on trial with Boro, as both Tony Mowbray and Mark Venus take a look at the player they brought to Easter Road from Raja Casablanca. It now seems a deal is imminent, and that “Zouma” has played his last game for the Hibees. Zemmama has played over 80 games for the Hibees, scoring 11 goals, and was part of the clubs 2007 Scottish League Cup winning side, and has just returned from a cruciate knee ligament injury, having spent eight months out. It's thought Boro wanted to loan the player, but Hibs were against it due to their position in the SPL, with Colin Calderwood needing the funds to re-build the squad. Boro are also said to have offered the Hibees a loan for loan swap deal involving either former Dundee Utd player Willo Flood or former Livingston winger Andrew Halliday, which were both turned down by the Hibees.
