Hibs linked with Cliftonville hitman Liam Boyce

Irish goal machine liked with Easter Road

Hibs have today been linked with a move for Cliftonville striker Liam Boyce.

The 22-year-old has hit 36 goals this season, and was voted both the Ulster Player of the Year and the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Player of the Year.

Shrewsbury Town failed to sign Boyce in January and are said to also still be interested in the player, who has 12 months left on his contract, with his club looking for a five figure fee for the player.

Boyce has been on trial at both Kilmarnock and Celtic in 2010, with Killie, at the time, being very keen, but unable to afford, to sign Northern Ireland internationalist.

Boyce started his career with Cliftonville before winning himself a move to Bundesliga giants Werder Bremen at the age of just 19, after his scoring exploits with the Belfast side.

He stayed in Germany for 12 months, but didn't make an apperance for the Germans, although he did play 3 times for their "b" side Werder Bremen II.

Boyce re-joined Cliftonville last summer, on a two-year-deal, after his release from the German giants and has seen his goals help Cliftonville land the double, the Irish League and the Irish League Cup, as well as reaching the Irish Cup Final which they lost to Glentoran.

He has been capped at U19, U21 and full international level for Northern Ireland.
