Hibs have offer for Falkirk striker Lyle Taylor turned down
Falkirk refuse Hibs offer
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has today confirmed that the Hibees have had an offer for striker Lyle Taylor turned down by Falkirk.
The Hibees made contact with the First Division side over the 6ft 2in English forward, but the Bairns have turned it down.
According to some newspaper reports earlier in the week, this was Hibs second bid of the summer for the striker, thought to be £100,000, with an earlier £50,000 approach also knocked back, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Taylor, 23, hit 28 goals for Falkirk last term, and impressed against the Hibees in the Scottish Cup Semi Final last season, as Fenlon's men came from 3-0 down, to win 4-3 in extra time.
Speaking to Hibernian TV, Fenlon said:
“We have made our interest known to Falkirk and they have declined that.
“We’re not any further forward on it at the moment.
“We are working away – these things take time and I know people can get frustrated but we just need to be patient and make sure we get the right players in.”
Taylor started his career with Millwall, without making an appearance for the London club, before dropping in to non league football in England.
He then won himself a move to Bournemouth, before then being loaned out to various lower league English sides.
He moved to Falkirk in 2012, scoring 28 goals in 35 appearances.
